This ceremony is held on the sidelines of the festival as a recognition of the two General Secretaries of the Holy Shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) and in appreciation of the efforts exerted by the media covering the festival.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and reading Surat al-Fatihah in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by the word of Sayed 'Aqeel al-Yasiri, a member of the preparatory committee of the festival, in which he said: "The efforts of the media has started from the opening day of the Book Fair until the closing ceremony, and everyone is a soldier to transfer all the morning and evening events, including the live broadcast and the registered one, as well as the efforts of the local satellite channels, newspapers, radios and media agencies."
Indicating: "There are a lot of satellite channels but what the committee was able to count was more than 30 satellite channels, as well as newspapers, radio stations, the media of the two holy shrines and the Arab and foreign media, all of them were glad to witness the thought and culture of the holy shrines despite the challenges faced by the country against the fierce attacks on it and the internal and external conspiracies, but the holy shrines stressed on the establishment of this festival since its first edition in response to all those who doubt the unity of this country, by the blessings of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them)."
Then appreciation shields, gifts and certificates were distributed to the representatives of the TV channels, media agencies, newspapers, radio stations and electronic news websites that have covered the festival.
