Activity of 14 Scientific Committees in the International Congress on Shiite’ Role in the Establishment and Development of Islamic Sciences

The pre-meeting of the International Congress on Shiite’ Role in the Establishment and Development of Islamic Sciences, aimed to review the quality of the congress was held in the Razavi University of Islamic Sciences.


Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Dr. Rezayi Esfahani, in a special program regarding the pre-meeting of the International Congress on Shiite’ Role in the Establishment and Development of Islamic Sciences, which was held today at Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, pointing out that the congress is a probative congress in response to those questioning, who are not familiar with long-standing achievements of Shi’ism said, “The congress, by the order of Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, began its extensive activity in November last year and one of its goals is to produce a complete Encyclopedia.”
“Other aims of the meeting would be ‘proving scientific authority of the household of the Apostle of God (S.A.W.) in the Muslim world’, ‘explaining the role of the Infallible Imams (A.S.) and their followers in the advent and advancement of sciences’, ‘explaining the role of Shi’ite scholars in the development of science’ and ‘clarifying the role of Shi’ite scholars regarding the prosperity of Islamic civilization’” he stated.
“In this congress, in addition to the scientific discussions in areas such as Quranic sciences, jurisprudence, philosophy, theology and ethics, the role of the Shi’ism school in the development of human and natural sciences in the Islamic world are also taken into consideration” the professor of the seminary expressed.
Activity of 14 Scientific Committees
Pointing out that during the past four months, fourteen scientific committees, attended by more than 200 prominent seminary and University professors for desired holding of the congress have had 134 meetings, he said, “The cores of the articles include founding and developing sciences, innovative activities, creation of books and valuable artworks, translation and transfer of sciences by Shi’ite translators, and Shiite scholars’ activities in the world.”
“Due to the development and objectives of the program, it can be said that a large-scale scientific research center, by presence of the best professors and elites of the country work for this congress” Dr. Rezaei Esfahani commented.
“The scope of the congress is global, and its level has reached beyond Iran and Islamic countries and many scholars of the Islamic world from Asian and African countries will participate in it” he announced, highlighting that more than 25 scientific pre-meetings in home and abroad will be held for this congress.
Submission Deadline
“Researchers will have the chance to submit abstracts of their works up to May 21st this year, and for the delivery of the full texts up to the September 22nd. They can take advantage of good reference books provided by the congress to enrich their works” Secretary of the International Congress on Shiite’ Role in the Establishment and Development of Islamic Sciences remarked.
Stating that the Supreme Leader has approved the congress and made comments about it, he added, “Articles in this congress in four languages of French, Persian, English and Urdu via the Website www.shia-congress.com could be submitted.”
