The secretary general said, "On the occasion of the birth of the Commander of the Faithful (Peace be upon him), Imam Ali Holy Shrine had installed the foundation stone for Al-Murtada Charitable Residential Complex for poor and needy families and we started the first steps work.
He added, "The area of the building is 92 square meters and there are two bedrooms, kitchen and WC. The completion of the project in will be in record period of time and does not exceed one year."
For his part, Sheikh Tariq al-Baghdadi, the official of the office of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali al-Sistani said, "This blessed step for the poor and needy families, who are suffering a lot of difficulties of life under the exceptional circumstances experienced by the country."
He added, "Iraq has a lot of capacities and capabilities and has plenty of steadfastness, construction, challenge and victory factors. At the same time, the Iraqi heroes are fighting terrorist groups."
For his part, the head of the office of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Ishaq Al-Fayadh, Sheikh Mohammad Jawad Mahdawi said, "We bless Imam Ali Holy Shrine, represented by its Secretary General, Mr. Nizar Hashim Habl al-Mateen of the establishment of this charitable project to serve the poor, needy people and orphans and we hope to see more of these charitable projects."
