The secretary general, Sayyed Nizar Habl al-Mateen, the deputy of secretary general, Mr. Khalid Hadi Shannon, Members of Board of Directors, the secretary general of Shiite Sanctuaries, Sayyed Musal al-Khelkhali, representatives of Holy Shrine, Representatives of Muslim Shiite Religious Authorities, the governor of Najaf and large masses of people had attended the ceremony of opening.
The opening ceremony started with recite of Holy Quran by Hani al-Musawi. Then, the secretary general presented his speech in the occasion.
In his speech, the secretary general stressed the importance of book in our life to build new educated generation at the same time he appreciated the victories of the heroes in liberating the holy lands of ISIS.
In his speech, the head of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs' Department, Sheikh Saad al-Khaqani welcomed the participants in the book fair and congratulated the attendances in the victories of our military forces and Popular Mobilization Forces, who obeyed the call of the Muslim Shiite Religious Authority.
He added, "The activities of the fairs this year is different for the large number of the publishing houses that took place in this book fair."
At the end of his speech, Sheikh Saad thanked all the attendances and participants in Najaf International Books Fair.
