Silver Medal of Rio 2016 Paralympic Games Was Dedicated to Razavi Holy Shrine Museum

Silver medal of visual-impaired Iranian national football team in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games was dedicated to the Museum of Astan Quds Razavi.


The appreciation ceremony for the team's athletes, with the participation of provincial sport officials and managers of Astan Quds Razavi was held in the public relations office of the sacred shrine.
Hossein Rajabpour, the captain of the visual-impaired national team in the 2016 Paralympic Games at the ceremony said, “Today is one of the best days of my life, since I was able to fulfill my pledge with Imam Reza (A.S.), and offer my Silver medal, which I gained in competitions with His help to the museum of the sacred establishment.”
“The success that the visual-impaired national team earned in the Paralympic Games, was nothing but the favor of God, and help of the household of the Apostle of God (S.A.W.), especially Imam Reza (A.S.), and I hope that the blessings of the medal dedication apply to all athletes in the country” he stated, while appreciating the officials of Astan Quds Razavi.
Meysam Shojaeian, the team’s goalkeeper also at the ceremony said, “Members of our team, before entering the field, kissed the holy flag of Ali ibn Musa al-Reza (A.S.) Court, and made a vow that if won in the Tournament, donate our medals to the Museum of Razavi Holy Shrine.”
“Throughout the tournament, we felt the helping hand of Imam Reza (A.S.), and although we had little experience, luckily the conditions were provided to win as the world vice-champion in the tournament and this is the greatest honor for us” he added.
Ahmad Shah Hossain, one of other players expressing that today was one of the best and most memorable days of his life, said “Today that I donated the tournament's medal to the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.), I asked the compassionate Imam to accept this little gift from us, and grant all our athletes the spirit of chivalry and heroism.”
At the ceremony, blessed gifts from Astan Quds Razavi, were awarded to the champion athletes, and in the end, these athletes attended the Razavi munificent banquet.
It should be noted, the blind Iranian national football team in the Paralympic Games, which were held in Rio, Brazil, with the silver medal won the world vice-champion position.
