On the sideline of this ceremony, Astan Quds Razavi’s assistant of sacred premises and pilgrims’ affairs said, “To identify Astan Quds Razavi’s capacities and in a cooperation with passive defense organization, emergency services organization, fire department, Iranian red crescent, Imam Reza’s Dar al-Shifa, and also Razavi servants this rescue maneuver was held to provide better services to citizens and Razavi pilgrims in the future”.
Referring to the Holy Shrine’s hosting of millions of pilgrims in different seasons of the year, Seyyed Khalil Monabati noted that some planning must be done to give better services to the Razavi pilgrims. He also asserted, “Helicopter descending and exercising rescue maneuver in the Razavi Holy Shrine, for providing rescue assistance in critical situations, was held with particular attention of Astan Quds Razavi’s Grand Custodian”.
Referring to two-million population of Razavi pilgrims on Arafah day, he said, “During special occasions such as Ramadan month, Tasua and Ashura days, and beginning of the new year, assistance and rescue services must be rendered in a very particular way. For this reason, a set of strategic actions have been anticipated for these special occasion and the helicopter landing pad is one of them”.
Helicopter landing was done for the first time in the Razavi Holy Shrine, in this ceremony. This emergency helicopter landing was a test to aid people in case of probable accidents around Razavi Shrine.
The helicopter that the type of which is “MI17” is able to carry around 4.5 tons of cargo. The chopper did its first mission by transporting and distributing blessed foods of Hazrat Reza (A.S.) to the people in flood-hit region of Taybad.
