Speaking at the opening ceremony of capital of Islam culture, Mashhad 2017, Seyyed Solat Mortazavi introduced the city as the unity and peace center in the Islamic world and reminded, “Some parts of the Islamic body is now suffering from evil acts done by the great Satan, the hegemonic U.S., and the Zionist regime. In this situation, we are very happy to have Mashhad, in vicinity of Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.), as the center of peace and Islamic culture”.
Noting that Mashhad attracts lovers and devotees of the household of the Apostle of God (S.A.W.) from all over the world, he reiterated, “It is now possible to form the Islamic civilization in this piece of paradise, with respect to the created opportunity”. He also said, “Mashhad can display this better life style to all the world people”.
The mayor introduced pure teachings of Islam and gracious and liberal conduct of all Imams (A.S.) as the lost asset of the contemporary mankind and stressed, “Introducing Mashhad as the spiritual capital of the Islamic world is a very good opportunity to for us to pay our debt toward the unique teachings of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) and his respected family”.
“The occasion has also provided a very good opportunity for introducing Iranian Islamic culture to the world so that this rich culture can play its civilizing role in the formation of world future culture”, he went on.
Referring to city’s cultural and recreational attractions at the end of his speech, Mashhad mayor reiterated, “Existence of Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.), presence of one of the biggest libraries of the region as a written memory for the Islamic world, mausoleum of Ferdowsi, greatest Persian epic poet, Kouhsangi complex, and tomb of imposed war’s martyrs alongside tens of other tourist attractions can pave the way for the presence of many visitors from all over the world”.
