In the inauguration ceremony of the Capital of Islamic Culture that was held at Quds auditorium of the Razavi Holy Shrine, Alireza Rashidian called Khorasan an old state and the hometown of great Iranian figures and asserted, “Throughout its vicissitudinous history, Mashhad has been outstanding in different cultural and religious domains. It has been always a cultural and ideological bridge between the country and the rest of the world.”
Noting that the ideological scope of Mashhad celebrities has influenced all people of the world, he said, “After emergence of Islam in this country, the science and culture grew drastically and celebrities such as Hakim Ferdowsi, Ghazali, Sheikh Tousi, and many more scholars flourished in this city.”
“Mashhad can play an essential role in the future of the Islamic world and the title of the biggest religious city of the Islamic world can suitably play an important role in the Islamic modern civilization plan and will be considered the center of cultural and ideological connections in the region”, he added.
Noting that following the approaches of Imam Reza (A.S.), Mashhad can be recognized as a grand ideological center in the Islamic world, he reiterated, “The voice of unity, empathy, peace, and brotherhood may resonate from Mashhad to be heard by all people of the world.”
“Mashhad deserves to make use of the available resources such as its seminaries and universities and be recognized as the center of global conversations”, Rashidian said.
