On the occasion of Sheikh Nimr Bagher al-Nimr’s first martyrdom anniversary, a special program was held by Astan Quds Razavi’s Assistance of Islamic Communications. This special ceremony was held after evening and night prayers at Imam Khomeini (R.A.) portico.
After reading Amin Allah supplication in this special program, some verses of the Holy Qur’an were also recited by Hamed Alizadeh, an international Qur’an reciter, to make Sheikh Nimr’s soul bliss. This ceremony was attended by many including Astan Quds Razavi’s Grand Custodian, religious scholars, and authorities of the province and Astan Quds Razavi.
In continuation of this special commemoration ceremony, Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Keshavarz and Ismaeil Kamel, a seminary student from Khaf and Syria respectively, had their poems to praise Sheikh Nimr and to blame Saudi criminal regime.
Glorifying martyrs of Yemen, Syria, Iraq, and other martyrs of right path, Ayatollah Akhtari, secretary general of Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly continued and stated, “This huge gathering which has been formed by both Iranian and non-Iranian pilgrims in the proximity of Hazrat Reza’s (A.S.) Holy Shrine represents Muslim nation’s abhorrence toward al-Saud’s plots”.
Referring to Sheikh Nemr’s defense from Bahraini people and his resistance toward al-Saud, he added, “With his speeches, he questioned the oppressive regime of the time. As a result of this resistance, al-Saud which could not tolerate his criticisms detained him first and killed him then”.
Secretary General of Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly stated, “Enemies of Islam have to know that Islamic scholars and Muslim people have no fear of being killed in God’s way and they will always stand toward hegemonic powers and child killer regime of Saudis.
It is mentioned that Sheikh Nimr Bagher al-Nimr was arrested in January 2012 following wide objections of people of Qatif, Saudi Arabia’s eastern region, happened in February 2011. On 15 October 2015, Nimr was sentenced to sword execution and crucifixion among the public by the criminal court of the Arab country on false charges of acting against national security and raise war against the al-Saud regime.
