Deputy Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, in the event, which was held and attended by Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the Governor of Khorasan Razavi, Mayor of holy Mashhad, and a group of country’s cultural activists, and Razavi Holy Shrine pilgrims in the Azadi courtyard of Imam Reza (A.S.) Holy Court, while congratulating on the occasion of Mashhad choice as the spiritual capital of the Islamic world, called this naming an opportunity to promote Razavi culture in the world.
Seyyed Morteza Bakhtiari, introduced Razavi culture as the center of all cultural programs of Mashhad 2017, and reiterated, “This occasion, is a priceless opportunity to develop and promote the Razavi culture horizon in the entire world.”
“The city, owing to the Illuminated Court of the learned of the Prophet Household, Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Reza (A.S.), throughout history, has always been the spotlight for men of science and knowledge, and today is a good opportunity to promote the rich Razavi culture in the world” he stated, expressing that holy Mashhad, due to the existence of Razavi Illuminated Grave, from ancient times until today, has been the source and lovers’ destination of the household of the Apostle of God (S.A.W.) and will be.
“We must seize the opportunity to introduce Mashhad as the cultural capital of the Islamic world in order to solve the problems of the Islamic world, development of the concept of pilgrimage, and interaction and collaboration with the Islamic world” Deputy Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi said at the end.
Brotherhood and Friendship, the Message of Razavi Culture
Also, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, in the event, mentioned brotherhood and friendship as the Razavi culture message for the world in Mashhad 2017.
Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri, introduced the cultural event “Mashhad, the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World” as an enormous capacity to get the world acquainted with Razavi culture and uttered, “Religion, spirituality, and the school of the Infallible Imams in Mashhad al-Reza (A.S.), and in in the vicinity of Razavi Illuminated Court will be manifested, and we should best use it.”
“I congratulate the inauguration of this major cultural event, and big movement of Mashhad 2017, in the spiritual capital of the country to the people of Mashhad and great Khorasan, and all Iranians and Muslim of the world” he added.
Governor of Khorasan Razavi, at the ceremony, referring to the official start of Mashhad 2017 event, stated: “This year, the holy city of Mashhad will be the historical and cultural messenger of the Islamic world, and cultural, artistic, and literary capacities of the city will be prepared to create a more suitable environment.”
Ali Reza Rashidian, pointing to the existing sedition in some Islamic countries remarked, “In Razavi culture, we witness the unison and conformity of Muslims, and this culture must spread in the world.”
“This year, requesting blessings from the Infallibles, and with cooperation of all Khorasani men and women, we will see the illumination of Mashhad, as the cultural capital of the Islamic world” he asserted.
Mashhad's mayor, also said at the ceremony “Thank God that today, Mashhad can guide the world to the pure Islam”.
“Mashhad has long been the cultural capital of the Islamic world and will be, and we hope the title this year, be successful in familiarizing the whole world with Mashhad more appropriately” Seyyed Solat Mortazavi commented.
It should be noted, since 2006, every year three countries from African, Islamic-Arab and Islamic non-Arab countries are introduced as the cultural capital of the Islamic world.
