The general secretary said, "The project has been launched several months ago and it has been achieved in 150 days. The cooperation between Imam Ali Holy Shrine and the governmental departments and has resulted in this project along with the project of al-Ameer Electric Station. The project costs about 3 milliard Iraqi Dinars and it will supply the Old City, al-Hanana and al-Saad Quarter with water."
The minister Dr. Eng Ann Nafee al-Awsi said, "In order to present best services to the noble visitors and the city center, the 4300-meter-long al-Ameer pipeline will provide water for the old city of Najaf (city center). The ministry participated in this project by providing two types of pipe; one is 1000 mm and the other one is 600 mm in diameter."
