The conference, which was largerly covered by media, has begun with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and reading Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by the word of the High Reponsible of the holy shrine of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), Sheikh Abd Al-Mahdi Al-Karbalai, in which he has stated:
"You are well aware, brethren, the fundamental and essential role in introducing, detecting and explaining facts to people and removing suspicions about the truth, exposing forgery and deception played by the enemy, as the media plays an important role in the public opinion industry. Noting that the Ziyarat of Arba'een has a wide global participation on the one hand and the development of communication means on the other hand, as those who perform this ritual started having a political, cultural, intellectual and ideological presence not only in Iraq but also at the level of states and peoples of the world, and have enemies who are trying to block out the facts and at the same time to tarnish the image of these rites. For all these reasons, it has become necessary for us and our brothers in the media industry to give interst to this mattr and develop the right media plans to achieve the important media objectives that should be directed for the whole world in all transparency. The journalists have also to highlight the details of martyrs' lives who have responded the call of the supreme authority, embodying the principles of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him)."
Followed by the poem of Mr. Ali Al-Saffar in which he has spoken about the patience, history and steadfastness of Iraq in the face of challenges and terrorism throughout the age and times, and for its inclusion of the holy shrines of prophets and saints, and he has also spoke about the great love of the followers of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) to Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).
Then came the word of the Preparatory Committee of the Conference delivered by the Deputy Secretary-General of the holy shrine of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him); Sayed. Afdhal Al-Shami in which he has stated: "Ziyarat Arba'een is one of the Ziyarat of the Master of martyrs (peace be upon him), which was specified by narrations from the saint Imams (Peace be upon them) as it is a feelings and emotions participation for the memory of the return of the captives to Ziyarat of Imam Al-Hussayn, his family and companions in Karbala. And we see with our own eyes how people persist on these days on performing this Ziyarat and the willingness to sacrifice for its sake, as the millions who flock during this Ziyarat are looking up to the master of martyrs (peace be upon him), waiving their identity that was melted and fused to draft two titles: The visitors of Al-Hussayn and the visitors' servants of Imam Al-Hussayn, both are embodying a human scene that is rare on earth."
Followed by the word of the media institutions delivered by Mr. Abbas Al-'Issawi; the director of Furat satellite channel and in which he emphasized the need and importance of documenting the Ziyarat of Arba'een and highlighting for being a historic unprecedented event, stressing on the need to transfer it accurately to the world.
The conference was concluded by the presentation of a short film about the Ziyarat of Arba'een and the march of millions and the large services provided to the visitors along all the roads to Karbala.
