The head of Mehdaviat Research center Hujjat ul Islam Hussain Elahi Nejad in an interview spoke about the life of Hazrat Hur (AS).
It is worth mentioning that Hazrat Hur (AS) was the general of the Ummayad army. The newly appointed governor of Kufa, Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad dispatched army from Kufa, Iraq. The purpose of dispatching an army was to intercept Imam Hussain (AS). Ibn E Ziyad, issued the command to guard all entrances and exits to Kufa in order to intercept Imam Hussain (AS) for an oath of allegiance to Yazid of the Ummayad dynasty.
Hazrat Hur (AS) stopped the caravan of Imam Hussain (AS) in the desert of Karbala on 2nd Muharram ul Haram.
Hujjat ul Islam Hussain Elahi Nejad said that Hazrat Hur (AS) was famous in Kufa and his tribe was one of the powerful tribes of Kufa.
Hazrat Hur (AS) keenly observed the personality of Imam Hussain (AS) in the desert of Karbala, listened to the speech of Imam Hussain (AS) and decided to leave the army of Yazid and joined Imam Hussain (AS).
In the end he said that the life of Hazrat Hur (AS) is a lesson for all those awaiting Imam Mehdi (AS).
