attending at the Razavi Holy Shrine on this occasion, large congregations of both pilgrims and citizens celebrated this auspicious Eid at the shrine.
On the occasion of this auspicious night, all courtyards and porticos of the Razavi Holy Shrine was decorated with colorful lights and smell of rose water and ambergris has spread all over the complex. Also, thousands of people were saying thanks prayers to thank God for this holy feast.
Razavi Holy Shrine was replete with light at this night and its porticos and courtyards were a tryst-place for numerous pilgrims and devotees who had come to congratulate their Imam (A.S.) and to get watered from the Razavi source of wisdom and knowledge.
On the occasion of this auspicious Eid, Astan Quds Razavi's assistance of Islamic Propagations had provisioned various programs for both pilgrims and Mashhad's citizens at the Razavi Holy Shrine. Eulogy recitations by the household of the prophet of God (S.A.W.) panegyrists, Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Hosseini Khorasani's speech at the Grand Razavi courtyard, and chorus songs were some of the programs at the night of al-Adha Eid.
In this ceremony, Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Hosseini Khorasani said, "The tenth night of Zi al-Hijjah is one of the blessed nights at which vigil is recommended and God's doors of mercy are open".
Going on Imam Hossein's (A.S.) pilgrimage was introduced by him as one of the special practices of this night. He added, "Nodbeh supplication, as a famous supplications quoted from Imam Sadeq (A.S.), has been recommended to be read in four feasts of Fitr, Adha, Ghadir, and Jome'e (Friday)".
"Visiting Imam Hossein's (A.S.) Holy Shrine is one of the practices which has been emphasized on by household of the apostle of God (S.A.W) in most holy occasions such as Arafa day, Friday night and day, beginning and middle of Rajab, Sha'ban, and Ramadan months, and other times of the year and one of these occasions are Fitr and al-Adha Eids", he continued.
Regarding the impact of pilgrimage, Ayatollah Ahmad Hosseini Khorasani stated, "Memory and pilgrimage of immaculate people directs the man toward the route of infallibility and purity. Also, this memory and pilgrimage gets, more than before, him closer to God".
He said, "As the traditions represent, distant pilgrimage of Imam Hossein (A.S.) has also lots of virtues as this true for other Imams (A.S.). Therefore, if Muslims cannot attend Imam Hossein's (A.S.) Holy Shrine now, they can have their distant salutation to him at this celestial night so that they can be considered as the pilgrims of his shrine.
