Zaid al-Akaishi, the head of Public Relations Department said: the ceremony of raising the banner of Imam Ali is the first step in the new program. This program will last to Eid al-Ghadeer. The program started by raising the banner of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) at the presidency of Kufa University and the same ceremony will be at al-Khatwa Mosque at Basrah Province at the fourth day of Eid and then the ceremony will be at Wasit University.
The program of raising the banner of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) began by reciting from the Holy Quran by Jaafar Aqeel, then reading the Holy Verse of Fatiha for the martyrs of Iraq, then raising the banner.
The second part of the ceremony took place at the Central Hall for Fiqah Faculty, where the engineer Mudafar Mahbuba, the member of Board of Directors, gave a speech in front of the instructors and students of university. The member of the Board of Directors announced his thanks to Kufa University to organize the anniversary ceremony to raise the banner of Imam Ali. Also, he thanked the efforts of the academic staffs for the students. Member of Board of Directors announced the intercommunication between the University and Imam Ali Holy Shrine in the fields of exchanges the experiments.
The ceremony ended when the representative of the Secretary of Imam Ali Holy Shrine presented a rare copy of Najul Balagha to the central library of Kufa University.
