Iranian Cultural Attaché in Turkmenistan Mohammad Javad Abolghassemi told IQNA that the Imam Reza (AS) Festival will be held at a place in Merv known as Ghadamgah – the Place of the Foot, where there is a stone slab with what are believed to be the two footprints of Imam Reza (AS).
He said Head of Iran’s Islamic Development Organization Seyed Mehdi Khamoushi as well as a number of Turkmen officials and people will attend the event.
Abolghassemi also noted that the Iranian cultural center in the Central Asian country has had 8 works on the life and Seerah of Imam Reza (AS) translated into Turkmen and Russian languages.
Muslims, especially Shias, around the world will celebrate the anniversary of Imam Reza (AS) birthday on Sunday, August 14.
Various programs are to be held to mark the occasion in Iran and other countries.
