In a meeting which elaborated Imam Reza's (A.S.) debates with leaders of different religions, Hassan Rahimpour Azghadi referred to the importance of Imam Reza's (A.S.) methods in various issues and said, "Imam Reza (A.S.) argued with opponent leaders and responded to their doubts while being polite and rational and also asking key questions". This meeting was held at the center of exhibitions and conferences of Astan Quds Razavi and with the presence of experts of the answering religious questions center in the Razavi Holy Shrine.
Quoting some incidents during Hazrat Reza's (A.S.) debates, this university and seminary professor stated, "In his debates, Imam Reza (A.S.) never tried to prove his superiority and the only thing he was concerned with was to prove the truth. Therefore, he didn't defamed people at all and as a result of which he could attract many people to Islam, following this kind of method".
Referring to the reasonable discourse of Imam Reza (A.S.), he added, "Hazrat Reza's (A.S.) debates with various opponents and followers of different sects brought many of them to the truth and made them humble toward it. Sometimes, this effective and moral method converted even enemies to Islam".
Respectful and friendly encounter toward the opposition was introduced as one of the main characteristics of Imam Reza (A.S.) by Rahimpour Azghadi. He also stressed, "Tolerating opponents for the purpose of interacting with them was one of the main methods used by Imam Reza (A.S.). Tolerance is one of the key traits of prophets which are expressed in Hazrat Reza's (A.S.) life in a very good way and this kind of approach is clear in his life time".
Noting that a clear distinction must be considered between intellectual opponents and enemies, Rahimpour Azghadi added, "Discussion, elaboration, clarification, and interaction were the general principles of Imam Reza (A.S.) to encounter with the intellectual opponents and to create most amount of guidance among them".
Introducing Hazrat Ali Ibn Musa al-Reza (A.S.) as the best intellectual, practical, and ethical example, member of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution stated, "All the purified Imams (A.S.) are our model and way to salvation in word and deed as well as in moral issues and social standards".
