“In Mashhad 2017, two major approaches of Astan Quds Razavi as the biggest endowment institution in the Islamic world are first, creating Razavi discourse in the Holy Shrine with respect to the large crowd of pilgrims and second, developing and presenting a practical model of religious system and Islamic management in line with representing the true visage of Islamic revolution and Islamic Order”, Hujjat al-Islam Sayed Jalal Husseini added.

What are the potentials of the Holy Shrine in Mashhad?
-Certainly thanks to the presence of the eighth Imam of the Shi’ite in this holy shrine, the major potential of this organization is its cultural and spiritual capacity, and Astan Quds Razavi has the capacity of culturalization across the country and the Islamic world.
Has the capacities of the Holy Shrine been used in its different social, cultural, and other aspects?
-With respect to the numerous cultural, social, and economic problems in the province and the country, it seems that we have not been able to make use of this capacity sufficiently and efficiently enough. In Astan Quds Razavi, however, good attempts have been made and a variety of performances in different cultural domains has carried out by universities, schools, libraries, etc. as well as economic, social, and constructional sections. But what has made such a capacity insufficient throughout the province and the country is the lack of integrity and cooperation among the bodies and authorities of the province and country in benefiting this great potential ideally.
How the Razavi Holy Shrine can be used as a tool for uniting Muslims?
-The present entangled man is seeking for a model that is able to save him from his troubles and ignorance. In this matter, the conduct and tradition of the prophet (S.A.W.) and his Household (A.S.) are the true exemplary models that can save and unite the Muslims of the world. Iran has the honor of hosting the savant of Household of the Prophet (S.A.W.). The special character of Imam Reza (A.S.) in scientific, ethical, social, and spiritual aspects is so exalted and valuable that presents the best prescription for the current problems. Pilgrimage provides for connection with this source of power. It can unite the wakeful Muslims across the world and this unity can bring about strength and solidarity of the Islamic community.
How much have the pilgrims of the Razavi Holy Shrine made use of potentials of the Holy Shrine?
-The Holy Shrine is annually the host of millions of pilgrims. To the extent that Astan Quds Razavi and the other related bodies of pilgrimage can provide for the spiritual attendances of pilgrims, pilgrims are able to make use of this spiritual capacity and refresh spiritually. How much have the capacities of Razavi Holy Shrine been used for realization of Mashhad as the spiritual capital of Iran?
-The Supreme Leader of the revolution stated in the decree of Astan Quds Razavi’s custodian that “The Holy Shrine enjoys a great cultural potential that should be effective across the country and the Islamic country”. This provision among the seven-article decree indicates that the potential has not been utilized as it should be. Iran’s spiritual capital means a place whose spiritual influence radiates throughout the whole country.
To have such an influence, Mashhad needs to develop a general network in relation to spirituality and insightfulness across the country by developing solidarity and interaction in management affairs, and then to propose a model for solving any problem not only across Iran but also throughout the world.
How do you see the international effect of the Holy Shrine in other nations and how much has the Razavi culture affected globally?
-Astan Quds Razavi is a ground for building culture and the focus of pilgrimage; purposeful management and programming in pilgrimage affairs provides for expansion and propagation of Razavi culture outside the Holy Shrine as well to prove its priority over other pretentious cultures in the world. Globalization of pilgrimage flow is a good arrangement for realization of the global mission of the Islamic revolution i.e. the issuance of its fundamental values including the spirituality of this kind. -Selection of Mashhad as the Islamic cultural capital is an excellent opportunity for spreading the Razavi knowledge since the identity of Mashhad as the second big religious city of the world is attached to the Holy Shrine and the other elements hardly associate with the identity and fame of the city in people’s minds. Hence, introducing the personality of Imam Reza (A.S.) is the key factor of unification of the Islamic community. This unification brings authority and power to the Islamic revolution and the Islamic world. Through spreading the Razavi knowledge and presenting scientific, cultural, and art instructions, Astan Quds Razavi can proceed to build a model of Islamic civilization and management of sacred premises.

-The solution is interaction. An interactional network with Mashhad institutions is needed to form and distinctly a management thinking room with presence of cultural officials of Mashhad should be organized with the purpose of creating solidarity and cooperation in offering cultural, social, and welfare services to pilgrims as well as introducing the spiritual capacity of the Holy Shrine to the world.
