Rustam Minnikhanov, Putin’s representative in Muslims’ affairs and president of Republic of Tatarstan, and his delegation visited Razavi Holy Shrine and different sections of Astan Quds Razavi’s central library earlier today. He visited central library’s manuscripts treasury and also got familiar with some exquisites existing at the center.
On the sideline of his visitation from Astan Quds Razavi’s manuscripts treasury and some exquisite works such as great Qur’an of Ibrahim Sultan and Ibn Tabakh Heravi’s Qur’an, he called for a joint cooperation between Astan Quds Razavi’s library and those of his country.
President of Tatarstan recognized central library of Astan Quds Razavi as a great honor and pride for the Islamic World.
In continuation of this visitation, director of Astan Quds Razavi’s Organization of Libraries, Museums, and Documents Center emphasized on that central library is now one thousand years old. He also said, “Documents of activities of the library are kept here since 500 years ago”.
Muhammad Hadi Zahedi added, “There is a rich collection of handwritten and lithographic works in the manuscripts treasury of the library and some of them such as exquisite Qur’ans, since the first century AD to the contemporary time, have been put into display in Astan Quds Razavi’s museum of Qur’an and exquisite.
Introducing Ibrahim Sultan Qur’an, he stressed, “Some exquisite Qur’ans of this collection like Baysonghori Qur’an which is world’s largest handwritten book has been published by Astan Quds Razavi, observing their original size and art”.
Referring to the existence of works of greatest calligraphers and gilding artists at the library, Zahedi stated, “Over fifty libraries with both print and digital sources in all over the country are rendering their services to the book lovers under the supervision and management of Astan Quds Razavi”.
