The opening ceremony had an extensive presence of religious, cultural and intellectual figures, researchers and academics from inside and outside Iraq, including the Secretary General of the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him); Sayed Ja'far al-Musawi as well as a high-level delegation representing the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine headed by its Senior Official his eminence Sayed Ahmed al-Safi in addition to a number of media channels.
The opening ceremony started by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reader Sheikh Jassem al-Najafi, followed by reading al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq and then the national anthem of Iraq.
Followed by the word of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine delivered by its Senior Official Sayed Ahmed al-Safi. Then came the word of the Shiite Endowment delivered by its President his eminence Sayed Ala al-Musawi followed by the word of Dr. Sheikh Ibrahim al-Nusayrawi and then of Sheikh Fawzi al-Sayf from Saudi Arabia, then Sheikh Abdallah al-Khaqani delivered a poem, followed by the word of the Bahr al-'Ulum charitable foundation delivered by Sayed Mohamad Bahr al-'Ulum.
The opening ceremony was then concluded by paying tribute to a group of Hussayni preachers and a Hussayni elegy by Sheikh Abi Ali al-Basri. The attendees have then headed to the opening of the photo and paintings exhibition held on the sidelines of the conference. The exhibitions focused on the dimensions and the values of the Hussayni timeless renaissance.
